This article describes the following topics:
Views Overview
Views are used to display model data. The main components of a View include the Table, the Chart, the Canvas, Right Side Panel, and the Formula Bar.
Views can be shared with other users. When sharing a model, there are options to share the entire model or only specific views.
Multiple views can be created and saved in various configurations to create reports, charts and dashboards.
The View Settings lists all views in the model, along with the saved configurations.
View Settings
The View Settings can be accessed by clicking on the gear icon by the Views list at the top of the page.
Each view has a name and a type (canvas or dashboard). The canvas is the default option, and this type of view includes the canvas, chart, table, right panel, and formula bar.
The configuration for a given view can also be updated via a quick access menu in the top right corner of the app.
When selecting the options to show or hide a given component, this only updates the view temporarily for yourself in the current session. To save the configuration for all users, click the cloud icon.
The Dashboard is the alternate view type that displays information graphically through a multitude of charts and numerically. Dashboards are covered in more depth here.
Creating a new view
To create a new view, click the view gear button at the top. Click on the "Add View" button to create a new view at the bottom of the views list.
Renaming a view
Click on the view to be renamed and edit the text field. Press the tab key or click outside of the text field to save the name change.
Reordering views
As more views are added, it can be helpful to organize them in the menu based on the frequency of use or grouped by subject matter. To reorder views, click on a view item in the list and drag it to a new position. The changes are automatically saved.
