Overview

This article describes the following topics related to the Lock/Unlock feature in Logica:

What is the Lock/Unlock Feature?

The Lock/Unlock feature allows for any collaborators with edit access to a model to lock a specific variable's values across all scenarios. This protects the values so no one can accidentally change the values giving your model an extra layer of security. The feature can be found at the top right of the RSP in any given Logica Model. The icon, as seen below, is a lock and the locked status of a variable can be seen next to it. In this case, it is "LOCKED." Additionally, any variable that is locked can be unlocked at any point in the future and vice versa. Lastly, by default, the lock is unlocked for every variable when it is created.

How to Use the Lock/Unlock Feature?

The Lock/Unlock feature is used to maintain control over a model's variable values and which ones can be altered. Locking a variable prevents its values from being changed by anyone who protects the data within it. This can be used in any situation that requires the needed protection providing users a little more peace of mind. Specifically, when a user tries to change the values they will see the following message at the bottom-right of the RSP letting them know why changes cannot be made.
